21st Century Airships to Reduce
Effects of Global Warming

After nearly 80 years of research, design and
development plus billions of dollars spent, one
of the most memorable and controversial
forms of transportation is about to return to
commercial use.
The Airship is back!
With some quite radical technological
improvements the modern Airship is more a
hybrid HTA (heavier than air) Airplane than a
LTA (lighter than air) Airship. The inventors of
this breakthrough in aviation technology
Robert Rist and Brian Martin of Ohio Airships
Inc., have named their 21st century Aircraft
the Dynalifter®
The latest buzzword in green tech is “hybrid”.
Daily we now hear about all sorts of hybrid
“green” products from cars to trains, tooth
brushes to garbage incinerators and even
airplanes as the world wrestles with the
inconvenient truth of climate change.  The
Dynalifter® is all about green tech and ready
to lead a new era in aviation history as the
world embraces the changes that are
essential for mankind’s survival.

NEW CLAIMS TO CREATE LIFE
FROM SCRATCH
DFJ Ventures Managing Director Steve Jurvetson is
bullish on nanotechnology.  Jurvetson made this
prediction during an exclusive interview with
AlwaysOn: "Within the next three years, we will create
artificial lifeforms from scratch." The key
breakthrough that's occurred in the last few years, he
says, is our ability to treat the code of life like a
computer program. In the past, we could only cut
and paste from biology, but the reality today is that
we can write the code of life from scratch.
Don't miss our fascinating interview with him and
catch a glimpse of the (near) future....

NEW LAND EXPROPRIATION BILL CAN
SEIZE YOUR FREEHOLD PROPERTY

ACDP MP & Whip, Cheryllyn Dudley has called on
the Minister of Land Affairs and Agriculture to
consider the CDE report in order to address the
land expropriation backlog.

“The ACDP says failure by government to meet their
own target of 30% redistribution by 2014 appears to
have been a trigger for irrational blaming and
extreme policy and legislation.

The new Expropriations Act which is expected to
come into effect in July this year for example, paves
the way for any private property, not only land used
for agriculture, to be expropriated by Government.
Land owned by churches, banks, individual home-
owners or commercial businesses could be
targeted.

Key findings in a recent CDE report on Land reform
show that erroneous perceptions about what is
holding up land restitution have been misleading.
While almost all urban claims have been settled,
the slow pace of settling rural claims, they say, is
due to a chronic lack of staff, skills and experience
in the department and land claims commission.

The ACDP urges Minister Xingwana to consider
proposals by the CDE for private-public
partnerships that will urgently seek to speed up
land restitution, and to ensure no holds are barred
in accessing adequate budget and the capacity to
effectively spend on meaningful land reform.

South Africa is facing serious food shortages for the
first time in its recorded agricultural history. The
ACDP has expressed serious concern over
escalating food and commodity prices which
effectively null and void efforts to eradicate poverty
and improve the standard of living of all South
Africans.  The ACDP, with this in mind, has called
for a debate in the National Assembly on “The
Impact of Land and Agriculture Policy and
Legislation on Increasing Food and Commodity
Prices.”
Government throws lifeline to the poor

May 12 2008 at 05:29PM

Government has set aside millions of rands to
assist the poor cope with harsh economic
conditions, the department of social development
said on Monday.

"The Minister of Social Development, Dr Zola
Skweyiya, announced the allocation of R124-million
to the SA Social Security Agency and to provincial
departments of Social Development, to provide
relief to households or individuals facing hardship,"
the department said in a statement.

The Social Relief of Distress allocation, intended to
assist those in dire material need, was a temporary
relief lasting for three to six months.

People who are either medically unfit or whose
social grants applications were still being
considered, would be amongst the first to benefit.

Are we teaching our people to fish
or to beg?
There is something inside all of all humankind –
kingship, we desire to control our domain and we
get stress free satisfaction from satisfying our daily
needs with our God given talents.

Take that away from anyone and teach them to rely
on hand outs and you create a massive problem of
dependence. You place those persons in a very
stressful environment, not knowing where the next
handout will come from – it is not a sustainable
environment.
“Teach people to fish and create a sustainable
environment”
“Teach people to depend on handouts from man
and you create another dependant – you create an
unsustainable environment”
Upsurge in Container Road Traffic

Since 2005 when the upsurge in container traffic
came to register on our collective radar screens, I
have explored all avenues in attempting to alleviate
and/ or
redress the issue. Without giving you a history
lesson, those avenues have included
correspondence with Sutcliffe, notices of motion to
Council, petitioning, on-site
meeting with officials, recourse to the DA's national
transport spokesman, Stuart Farrow in parliament,
an appeal to Maria Ramos, remonstration with
Transnet, Propnet
officials.

There was an armed robbery at a local
restaurant a few nights ago at approx
21h30. Eight armed males entered the
restaurant robbing staff and customers.
Nobody was seriously hurt. They also
stole the owner’s car, a blue Ford
Focus sedan reg no. ND211-446.

Do not let these thugs intimidate you
into locking yourselves away. When the
tube trains in London were bombed,
the local people immediately went back
into the tubes to show the cowards that
they would not allow themselves to be
intimidated. The SAPS will catch these
people and put them away.

KZN FLOODS; ACDP CALLS FOR CREATION OF CITIZEN DISASTER CORPS & PUBLICITY
OF SAFETY MEASURES TO COPE WITH NATURAL DISASTERS.
20th June 2008
Rev Kenneth Meshoe, MP and President of the ACDP has expressed his parties deep concern for the people
of Kwa-Zulu Natal affected by the floods:

“The ACDP is saddened by the loss of life, homes and upheaval due to the floods in Kwa-Zulu Natal, and
offers condolences to the families who have lost loved ones.

Floods and runaway fires are recurring with apparently greater severity every year, and we need to be
prepared, even for such times when one disaster occurs immediately after another, as these floods follow
on from the displacement of thousands of people due to xenophobic violence.

It is becoming clear that disaster strategies and materials need to be kept in constant readiness in
expectation of mass displacement of people, and we call for the creation of citizen disaster corps, trained to
react quickly to lessen the loss of life and reduce hardship. We need greater publicity of disaster and safety
measures to the general public and children in areas vulnerable to natural disasters.

The ACDP applauds the emergency rescue personnel, paramedics, the police and all who have worked so
hard in giving their time to help people in distress.
